Adoptions

Please download the form below for the type of animal you are looking to adopt. All animals currently looking for their forever home are available to view on our "Available for Adoption" page.

We do not work from a waiting list for adoptions as we aim to find the best possible forever home for each and every animal that comes into the rescue. We need to ensure the purrr-fect match is found for both you and the animal and we feel this is the best way to do this to ensure you both have the happiest life together.

Please note, all adoptions will only be approved once a form has been fully completed, a successful home check has been carried out and the full adoption fee has been paid. (The adoption fee will only need to be paid once the adoption of an animal has been agreed and finalised with you and the Moonstone Rescue Team)

Please download the form for the type of animal you wish to adopt, complete it and email it to info@moonstonerescue.com to start your application.

Cat / Kitten Adoption

Small Animal Adoption

The Adoption Process

Step 1: You complete the application form and email it to info@moonstonerescue.com

Step 2: The team will ask you for photo ID & proof of address to confirm your details

Step 3: The team will then organise for a virtual home check to be carried out (usually by Whatsapp Video Call)

Step 4: The team will then discuss your application and advise if it has been accepted or rejected

Step 5: If the application is accepted, the team will look to see which animals within the rescue would be a good match for you and introduce you to the animal via email. ( through your application, we will get to know you, what you are looking for in a cat, your lifestyle, etc and then match you to the perfect companion who would fit in perfectly with your family)

Step 6: You then have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the animal, and also request a video call with the animal to  see how they are in real time (We are unable to allow any persons to visit the animal in person as all animals within the rescue are fostered in private homes and most fosterers are not comfortable with people entering their homes)

Step 7: If you are happy to proceed with the adoption, you will be asked to pay a £20 reservation fee to reserve the animal. (Please note, the reservation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and will be reduced from the adoption fee)

Step 8: The team will advise when the animal will be ready to go to their forever home and make arrangements for this.

(You will be required to sign an adoption contract on the day of the animal going to their forever home)
